As the name suggests, the team is affiliated with the Hong Kong Sports Institute (National Hong Kong Sports College) and has been active as a UCI Continental Team since 2014. It effectively serves as Hong Kong's national team, comprising both young and experienced riders from Hong Kong. While the team primarily focuses on Asian races, it has also been participating in European tours in recent years.
